A definition of digital humanities (DH)

DH uses and builds technologies in a way to encourage interdisciplinary study of textual and other records of the human experience, involving scholars and the public collaboratively. Although many DH practitioners have advanced technological training, they emphasize the transparency of their methods and broad accessibility of the information and stories they produce. DH builds on principles and goals of traditional humanist scholarship, even as traditional scholarly methods are being transformed or grow obsolete.
