Material available on the site: This site offers images and transcriptions of twelve legal documents – laws, subpoenas, trial transcripts, receipts, ships’ cargo lists – illustrating aspects of the American trade in African slaves. Among these are a few documents related to the famous case of Africans who mutinied aboard the Amistad slave ship. This site, maintained principally as a resource for K-12 teachers, also has links to suggested teaching activities and worksheets to facilitate analysis of primary sources.
